Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch brings to his monumental commentary on the Siddur the same penetrating power of insight that he lavished upon his commentaries to Chumash and Sefer Tehillim. In it, he examines the structure and meaning of words, explores the underlying themes and ideas of the Siddur, and discusses the rhythm and cycle of tefilla – around the day, week, month, and year. Here is an all-encompassing commentary that eloquently bridges the universal and the personal: the purpose and meaning of creation along with the historical mission of Klal Yisroel, as ultimately expressed through the personal yearnings of each and every Jew, in tefilla. Whether you turn to The Hirsch Siddur during times of prayer, or any other time - as a source of learning, insight, or inspiration - you will always discover a virtual fountain of enrichment and encouragement. Here is a commentary that makes the Siddur text accessible to all, transforming tefilla into a more meaningful and invigorating personal experience. Also includes Rav Hirsch’s complete commentary to Pirkei Avos.

I just received this a few days ago. I am only on page 8 of the commentary and I had to come and leave feedback. I don't "need" another Siddur and many who read this would say the same. If you do not have this Siddur get it. It's on sale but the wonderful words inside are priceless. Also..Perkei Avot is in this with commentary. May you be blessed in your studies. Amein!

To get to the point, the commentary is what you should use of this. The order of the siddur is flipping back and forth and if you daven in some English, well, you can forget this. It's Hebrew on many stuff. I use this for commentary mostly.
