In the early 1900s, New York City was already a thriving metropolis, home to twelve-year-old Meir and his family. Meir was a typical boy who took pride in his religious Jewish home and enjoyed playing ball with his friends. One day on his way home from school, Meir gets sidetracked by a street artist painting on a busy sidewalk. The minute he sets eyes on the painter and his colorful paints, Meir is spellbound. When the painter offers to teach Meir how to paint, Meir’s hidden talents come out, and the painter devises a plan to show off Meir’s paintings to the world. Meir was a good boy who never planned to leave his home...but when his fascination with the painter and his paintbrush overpower him, he finds himself trapped into a harrowing and mysterious journey.
