Motti Gordon is a regular kid living in the 21st Century when suddenly he is propelled back in time to the fear and danger of the evil Spanish Inquisition, where torture and secrecy are a way of life. When Motti meets Marco and Juan, his life really takes a twist as the three boys discover that their Jewish practices have been discovered and the Inquisition is in hot pursuit. This vivid, intense novel is a realistic portrayal of the horrors of the Spanish Inquisition, giving young adults a poignant perspective on the plight of the anusim-their faith, their commitment to Hashem, and the Divine Providence that they experienced.

This book is a great, suspenseful, and definitely a page turner! when I got it out, I couldn't take my head off the book! I also enjoyed the suspense and how the author was able to draw the reader to keep reading. I don't like all books, but this is definitely a favorite! keep reading, and if you'd asked my advice I'd say "grab it quickly before someone else takes it!!!!!"

I read this book myself and couldn't put it down. Then I read it aloud to my 3rd grade boys class and they were totally captivated. It is an excellently written adventure and mystery. We all enjoyed it thoroughly.

  7. A Suspenseful Must Read

This is a great book. You get caught up in the drama, the courage, the fear and the terror which the Jews of Spain in that time period went about their lives. It explains the terrible inquisition without being overly graphic for younger minds and yet makes it understandable.
    I highly recommend this book
