- Even better than first volume!Having enjoyed the first volume immensely, I was excited to see that a volume 2 came out! It adds a great new set of unique and intriguing halachic topics tied into the weekly parsha, and has a handful of nice improvements over the 1st volume, including great footnotes for the sources, bibliography, and a glossary.
Like the 1st volume, each parsha has one or more chapters, with each chapter beginning with a short story. The story relates to the reader an example of when such a set of circumstances or a situation could come up in which the halachic topic discussed needs to be paskened or addressed. The author then brings the sources of the halacha, the various opinions from the poskim, and a conclusion.
This is a wonderful book that not only allows the reader to learn about halachic topics that aren't directly discussed in your average halacha sefer, but it also demonstrates how halacha is derived and applied to modern and/or exceptional situations.
I hope that there will be a volume 3 one day!Posted on
