  1. Totally absorbing

This is a book of moving autobiographical sketches that take you deep into the hearts of people who have made very courageous choices and changes in their lives .
Some of the most inspirational stories are those that show little children inspiring their parents, and at the other end of the spectrum, the enduring influence of a loving grandparent on the lives of their descendants. The stories are beautifully written and totally absorbing. They leave you with a sense that you've encountered some amazingly admirable, honest and real people. I admit to choking up more than once. A must buy!

I saw The Gateways Diaries in a friend's house and glanced through it. A few pages into it, I was hooked. The characters are real and powerfully engaging. They open their hearts to you, pulling you right into the drama of their lives. The book is a real page turner. I found myself dying to reach out and meet some of these fascinating, inspiring people. I want them to keep on talking, to tell me more about their lives, their relationships, the highs and lows of embracing Yiddishkeit. I'm hoping there's a sequel because this volume left me wanting more!
