As an avid reader, I have read many jewish novels. This one is definitely on a higher standard. It reveals a different kind of Holocaust story- where the characters are so normal and real, you feel like a part of them- and the horrors and fear of the Holocaust are easily felt.

As the granddaughter of the hungarian catholic "savior" from the book I was utmost pleased to see my granddad in a different way. A beautiful touching story about ordinary people who lived in extraordinary situation and became extraordinary themselves as well.
