Fantastic Work
I just got the sefer and as I am reading it, I am struck by the profundity of the text as well as it accessible terminology. Sometimes you find a text that is in English that uses what I consider stilted English or archaic terms that don't necessarily flow well with the average American reader but I find this mussar text to be so easily digestible and a sheer joy to read. I expect that I will read and re-read this text many times over!

Very helpful and interesting
This sefer deals with a lot of ideas related to middos and spiritual growth that you don't find elsewhere. I really benefited from the very detailed and clear discussion of the levels of bitachon. The later chapters in the book about perishus and meditation were especially fascinating.

Rebbi Yaakov Rocks!
Rebbi Yaakov is one of the greatest scholars I've ever met in my life. I'm very happy for his success. May he be able to enlighten many generations to come with this and many other sfarim.

Guide to character building
I found the book very readable and giving real guidelines for developing good character traits in a brief and concise manner. The author kind of says, OK after all is learned from my dad, here is what you have to work on.
The translator Rabbi Wincelberg did a good job in giving an easy flow to the reading.
(Note: I know Rabbi Wincelberg)
