A must have addition to your cookbook collection 06/21/2009
I have been making challah for my family for the last 22 years. I have gotten many compliments on it, and yet, I am more than thrilled to add this to my cookbooks. The pictures in it are beautiful and very clear. I have always wanted to learn how to make a six braid challah, and last week on my first try produced the most gorgeous challos. I am also very excited to work my way through the recipes in the book. Whether you are a newly wed or married a long time, this book is one everyone should own!

This cookbook is a great addition to any kitchen. I've been making challah for over a decade, but since I started using Tamar Ansh's recipe I have to make larger loaves - my family loves it that much. The book features clear, step-by-step braiding instructions for a slew of different challah's and rolls. For the rest of the week, there are fun and funky bread recipes, and even a few spreads. Stories, tefillos and halachos infuse the cookbook with meaning, while Tamar's chatty tone makes for an easy read. And the pictures...you just wish they were edible.

Great for experienced AND the unexperienced 05/27/2007

I must admit that I have been baking challahs for many many years. I didn't think that this book would teach me anything I didn't know already. But, the pictures were so gorgeous so I decided to treat myself.
I was in for a very pleasant surprise. Tamar taught me many new tips and ideas. There is much more than challah in this book. Besides different yeast dough recipes, the stories - along with prayers and chizuk are very refreshing.
Just remember that this book contains H-Shem's name, which we usually don't see in a cookbook, so handle it accordingly.
Wonderful! The aroma of fresh challah is the best.
Thank you Tamar Ansh and thank you Feldheim!
